Project Unbreakable: Male Survivors of Sexual Assault Speak Out

“Men can’t get raped.” It’s a horribly sexist and insensitive thing to say, especially to someone who has been sexually assaulted. Yet, it’s a common response, regardless of how wrong it actually is. It is estimated that one in six males are victims of sexual assault. According to the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), 54% of incidents are not reported to police, so it could even more. Although most sexual assault victims are female, males are much less likely to come forward and seek help and support. Male survivors often…

This is a loop hole Richie didn’t learn about until it was too late. GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation)…

Radio Show Refers to Transgender Athlete as “It”

Recently two ESPN radio hosts mocked transgender basketball player, Gabrielle Ludwig. Hosts Steve Czaban and Andy Pollin called Ludwig “it” and he/she, and even said that transgender people shouldn’t play sports. Both hosts half heartily apologized and were suspended by the station. I don’t think the radio hosts deserve any more attention. That’s why I love this article by the Huffington Post were they actually talk about Ludwig the athlete not the incident that happened. I think that Gabrielle Ludwig will become an inspiration to other transgender youths who want…
