Meet Our Newest Contributor: Amy Kirkpatrick!

Amy graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Majoring in Theatre, and minoring in Film Studies. She then went on to become a lighting designer and worked at top Vancouver nightclubs lighting bands and DJ’s. Her classical studies in piano as a child, and self-taught guitar skills (thanks to her father leaving his guitars lying around the house) lead to a career in music. Having spent the last 3 years under the band name Data Romance, and touring North America several times, she is now excited to have a home base in Vancouver, where she practices yoga religiously, works with children with Autism using music and art to connect and learn, and proudly spends as much time with family and friends as possible. She believes laughter is the best medicine, is dedicated to helping empower women (and men for that matter) and is honored to be a part of the Beutiful movement. Her site Three Cocktails tells tales of the music industry, her personal life in Vancouver, and is based around ways we can all help each other to love and live as a positive community together.

Having experienced disordered eating, unhealthy exercise patterns and poor body image, she is especially passionate about shedding light on eating disorders and the power of body acceptance.
