kim_cattrallSex And The City star Kim Cattrall has confessed to being on a diet for most of her adult life. And the svelte actress, 54, admitted she is finding it harder to stay in shape as she gets older. ‘I’ve been dieting my whole life because I have a tremendous appetite,’ she said. The Liverpool-born star, who played man-eater Samantha in the hit TV series and films, revealed her battle to stay slim as she was named in New York as the new spokeswoman for a low fat spread I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter. Cattrall said her fondness for food meant that she grew up with a healthy attitude about food and exercise. ‘This generation of women that I’m in, we have been brought up with Jane Fonda workout tapes and fresh air is good for you and exercise every day and drink eight cups of water and it’s paid off at this time of my life. It gets harder because parts of my body don’t want to be on a diet, but at the same time it gets me up in the morning to work out.’ Cattrall, who split from her third husband Mark Levinson in 2003, said she doesn’t stay in shape to attract men but for her own self esteem. She said: ‘I don’t do it for a guy. I do it for me. It’s about taking care of yourself.’ The actress said she was starting to date again following her 2009 split with Canadian chef Alan Wyse. ‘I am starting to date, but I’m just dipping my toes. I think, especially at this point in my life, I feel pretty happy. I like who I’ve become and it’s changing always. I’m kind of embracing that.’ Article by Daily Mail
