Mila KunisActress Mila Kunis has revealed how she went on a binge eating spree after months of dieting to play a ballerina in the psychological thriller Black Swan. The 27-year-old star slimmed down to just over six and a half stone to play the part. But as soon as filming was completed she indulged in all her favourite foods – calorie laden burgers and Chinese food. She said: ‘After production ended the first thing I did was go get Panda Express at the airport terminal at Virgin America at JFK.’ ‘Then I landed in LA and I got in my car and I drove to In and Out and I had a Double Double animal style with a root-beer float; and it was fantastic!’ Kunis, who shares a controversial lesbian love scene with co-star Natalie Portman in the movie, added: ‘It took me five months to lose 20 pounds, and it took me hours to gain it back!’ The actress said her extreme dieting and punishing fitness regime saw her weight plummet to 98 lbs. Her weight loss was so extreme that she admitted it concerned her family. ‘My mum freaked out. She was like “You have to promise me this isn’t going to affect you,”‘ said the Ukranian born star.

‘I was like, “I promise it won’t, but it might take me a little time to be OK with having a little more fat on me.”‘ But, Kunis, who is known for her usually curvy figure, admitted she hated looking at her shapeless body in the mirror. ‘I could see why this industry is so f***ed up, because… I would literally look at myself in the mirror and I was like: “Oh my God! I had no shape, no boobs, no ass… ‘All you saw was the bone. I was like “this looks gross.” ‘In real life I looked disgusting but in photographs and on film, it looked amazing.’ The actress said she was surprised by how gruelling preparation for her role had been. ‘Here’s the thing about ballet that I never knew about: it’s one of the most physically excruciating sports that I’ve ever been part of – and I say sports because they train constantly, every single day.’ Black Swan tells the story about two rival ballerinas and is directed by Daron Aronfosky. Portman is tipped to win an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of a dancer threatened by a younger rival. Article by Daily Mail, referred by Lauren Johnson
